Not all companies offers this service as it requires special equipment and a very good understanding of geometry to maneuver the safe through your home or office. Safe installation may sound simple but there is more to it than meets the eye. You have to keep in mind the weight of the safe and whether the structure is solid enough to hold the safe for a long period of time. Security Safes

Security or burglary safes are are the most common type of safes in use today by many home and business owners. They are free standing units that can be bolted down to the floor to prevent them from being stolen. Generally they are made of thick steel to make them less susceptible to brute force attacks and cutting. They are the most popular safes because of ease of installation and cost effectiveness of the product, plus many configurations and sizes makes it easier to fit almost anywhere.

Concealed Safes

These safes are designed to either be mounted in the wall or floor or they may have an exterior that resembles another item. These safes are generally used in places where the safe may have to installed in an area that is not necessarily private. Wall and floor safes come in many different wall thicknesses and configurations to accommodate various items. Some concealed safes also have pry resistant doors and hidden hinges for added security.

Gun Safes

Gun safes provide a secure storage area for your guns, ammunition, and other related items. They are a generally used to keep firearms out of the reach of children and thieves, while still putting them in easy reach of the owner. They can come equipped with fingerprint scanner for easier access and can be ordered with fire and water resistance. Preventing unauthorized1 access by others to your firearms is required in many states making a gun safe a must for gun collectors and enthusiasts.

Jewelry Safes

A jewelry safe is a specially designed fire resistant safe to safely store your jewelry and other valuables. These higher end safes typically come configured with many different compartments inside to store various size jewelry and other items. The compartments are normally made with either cloth lined wood or metal shelving with plastic bins. They can also be configured to be modular so you can change the interior spacing as needed for larger items or subdivide for smaller pieces.

Fire Resistant Safes

Fire resistant safes are specifically designed to protect the content from high temperatures and fires. Though they tend to be more expensive and much heavier than non-fire resistant safes they offer much higher level of protection. An average size fire resistant safe can easily weigh over 5,000 lbs and usually require a professional to move and install. Most of the added weight comes from the concrete type filling used to reduce fire damage and thicker steel walls.
